Woolie Wednesday

 Good Morning Chicks!
It's Woolie Wednesday.

 A tisket a tasket it's a very woolie basket.
Yes chicks its a basket of woolie eggs.
I just love my wool and fresh eggs.
Stuffed with fluff and stitched with love.

These eggs were created with my hands and wool.
Not by any of my forty some chickens.
These eggs remind me of the ones I dye each year with the granny's.
I love the jewel colors.
I like to leave my eggs in extra long to get that deep dark color.

My Table

 Happy Tuesday to you Friends!
This is my new enamel top table.
I found it in a little Antique shop in Strasburg.

I have moved it a few places and changed furniture.
I bought it to put in front of a love seat in my sewing room, but it of course did not look right.

So I moved the love seat out. and moved in my two chairs.
I don't love these chairs but I threw a quilt on them and they are o.k.
I want a place to sit and stitch.
A place to put my wool and fabric while I am creating.

Who knows if my new old table will stay here or I will move it again.
At first I fell in love with the enamel top.
But now I am just loving the old chippy green paint.
Thanks for helping me find this cool table Kath.
Have I ever told you just how much I love anything old ? :)
Now I must run and start creating something for Woolie Wednesday.

Girls Get Away

Good Morning Friends!
This is my Girlfriend Kathy and her friend Amos.
She really likes BIG guys.
And boy do I just love this picture!
We truly had a great time.

This is my other Girlfriend Carol. She just rocks.

I wanted a table. And she helped me move it and try it out.
I did not buy it. Kinda wished I did now.
Shopping can be hard work.
Thank goodness for friends!
I did  buy a table but its still in the back of the granny mobile.
I will share my very cool table tomorrow.

I found a few treasures, but this was my very favorite.
I collect bobbins and this one is just awesome.
It is wooden and red on the top.
It is wrapped with a cream and red fabric trim.
I didn't even think about it when I saw it.
It was a I HAVE TO HAVE.

 Some new heirloom table runners.
I just love these colors.

And of course I couldn't come home without some fabric.
I am covering all my pillows with the red and white fabric.
A granny girl just can't have enough fabric.
A sewing I will go.

I also found some more transferware.
I only found blue but I love it and the price was right.
I found a few red and white pieces but they were a bit to pricey for this trip.

Here are some yummy cinnamon rose hips, prim eggs and grass.
I am going to make a Spring Easter display in my big enamel basin this week.
My new table has a enamel top.

A sweet new birthday treasure from Kathy.
Just love all these beautiful colored eggs.

And a few birthday treasures from Carol.
A awesome prim tissue box and sweet feathered friend.

Nothing like GOOD FRIENDS!
Months go by and we don't see it each other, but when we get together it feels like yesterday.
We have a blast every year.
Its so fun just being ourselves and laughing like girls again!

Home

Good Sunday Morning!
I just got back from my trip and what a wonderful one it was.
So hard to believe how fast it flew by.
I will share some about more about it tomorrow.
Oh how we laughed and shopped.
It was so fun being with my girlfriends, but there is just no place like HOME!
It was a beautiful evening. The sky was amazing.
The wind was blowing and Papa John had a roaring fire for me.
And boy was my Piper Girl happy to see me.

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all these things shall be given unto you .

Girls Get Away

 Hey Friends!
I'm leaving on a "Girls Get Away" with my two childhood friends.
To the Amish Country in Lancaster.
For shopping, laughter and a whole lot of new memories.
I am forgetting all about the no sugar and bread thing too.
( I need a whooooopie pie bad )
We have been doing this for at least 15 years maybe more.
My baby was 4 when we started going up there for the weekend and he is now 20.
How times just flies ...
Anyway

Gone Shopping not FISHING!

Woolie Wednesday

 Good Woolie Wednesday Friends!
I have been stitching away making this little hand tied baby quilt.
A friend of my Cole's friend had a baby very early. Her name is Leigha.

She asked me if I could make her a baby blanket.
I then appliqued one of my woolie bunnies on the end.
I put extra thick fluff inside.
And stitched it all up with pink thread.

Please keep precious Leigha in your prayers.
And also my little cousin Brycen. He was hospitalized yesterday.
Bless our precious little ones from the top of their heads to the bottom of their toes.

Here is the new treasure I found at the Goodwill.
I just loved the sweet boy , his pup and his dapper top hat.
I brought it home and gave it a good scrub.
It had a little water damage but it goes great upstairs in the Sisters room with a old quilt on the bed.
So no friends it wasn't a new chicken, wool or ginger man.
Just a old picture that made me smile

I give you thanks O LORD, with my whole heart!

Dishes

 Morning Friends!
I have a little love for dishes.
Normally little desert dishes.
I especially love red and white transfer-ware.
But lately I've been adding in some blue and white.
I found these Sunday on my road trip.

Yesterday I went down to Maryland.
I met my Aunt's and Cousin Lena.
We went to a couple of thrift stores and to lunch.
I had a yummy crab salad and cup of cream of crab soup.
Delicious!!
Oh how we laughed and had a wonderful time.
Guess what new treasure I found?

A Very Cool Gift

 Good Monday Morning!
How was your weekend?
Mine was a very good one spent with my Papa John.
He just got a new truck so we took a few road trips.
To East Earl, Blue Ball and The Gap.
We even walked through a old Amish Barn in search of some old barn wood.
It was alot of fun.
I really wanted to take a picture but I didn't want to offend the kind Amish lady who was letting
us look in her barn and walk around her farm.

Saturday afternoon Lapoookie came up for a visit.
She had a birthday present for me.
Its a calender she made for me with lots of pictures from my blog.
I just love it.

She put alot of time and energy into it.
Here is Ne (my treasure) and Me .
We are in Kentucky in front of Black Mountain.
What a wonderful treasured memory for me.

Adorable photos of my granny kids and me.
Yes that blond one down in the corner was me..OH NO!!
Its a old one.

Here are more of my precious grannies and my daughters Nicole and Alicia.
Ooops can't forget Bran up in the corner.
I so love the one of Bug and BJ picking strawberries.
They picked those for me and I made jam with them.

The top photo is my three babies. Jay, Nicole and Alicia.

I just love this gift filled with such treasured memories of my sweeties.
The one on the bottom right is our Lapoookie.
Just pages and pages of Love!

Thank you Sweet Lapoookie for all the time and love you put into this.
I just love it and I will treasure it.

Smells Like Spring

Good Sunday Morning!
My dear neighbor gave me this hyacinth for my birthday.
It surely smells like Spring here in my home this morning.

'For behold, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone.
 'The flowers have already appeared in the land;
The time has arrived for pruning the vines,
And the voice of the turtledove has been heard in our land.
'The fig tree has ripened its figs,
And the vines in blossom have given forth their fragrance.
Arise, my darling, my beautiful one,
And come along!' "
Song 2:11-13

Planting Time

 Good Friday Morning!
Guess what I've been doing?
Planting seeds and preparing for SPRING!
Yes Spring is on it's way.
Time to GROW!
It's so exciting.

The corn seeds are Papa John's. He will sow those directly in the ground.
I planted cukes, squash, tomatoes, peppers and some lavender so far.
A few years ago Papa John bought me one of those wire greenhouses to put my flats in.

I'm gonna set it up in the upstairs guest room.
The sun shines very bright in that window.

Does anyone else start their veggies from seeds?

These little sprouts are hollyhocks from my sweet friend Lea.

Georgie Boy

Good Morning Beautiful!
This is my handsome Georgie.
You met him before but he truly has grown and thought I'd share a few new photos.
He is my other love.
He gets out of his pen alot and will walk around my house gobbling wanting food.
When I come out he will come running to me.
If I have the red feed bucket he will try to steal feed and keep pushing into me.
He sure makes me smile and laugh.
My simple joy this week is my GEORGIE BAILEY!

Woolie Buns

 Good Woolie Wednesday!
Yesterday I made these. I never use patterns besides for the ones I make.
And this pattern was made from a envelope from a birthday card.
Valentine's Day is over so it's full force Spring and Easter creating and decorating.
Now what am I going to put these on.
A penny rug, candle mat or maybe a quilt.
All I know is these little buns are hopping everywhere. :)

Yesterday I drove out to New Oxford to a little Thrift store.
And I found this sweet old "Velveteen Rabbit" book.
I love old children books. It was from a school library "Penn St. School".
My 1.00 thrift store joy of the week.

Autumn passed and Winter, and in the Spring, when the days grew warm and sunny, the Boy went out to play in the wood behind the house. And while he was playing, two rabbits crept out from the bracken and peeped at him.

Two Are Better Than One

Happy Valentine's Day Love of My Life!
I have loved you forever and always will.
Forever Your Girl, Shoooogie

**********************************

My Love wrote me this poem while we were dating.

Rose are red.
Violets are blue.
I am going to stick to you like crazy glue.

(HE DID!!)

Ecclesiastes's 4:9-12

Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor,
If  either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help the other up.
Also, if two lay down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone.
Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

(my mother has written this in our anniversary card for 27yrs.)

Birthday Chicks

Cheep! Cheep!
Good Monday Morning!
I did it..
I made a whole basket full.

I stitched and stitched. While watching many movies. I had a wonderful weekend.
Does anyone watch the Downtown Abbey? Well my sweet friend Opal has me hooked.
Papa John, Jay and I also watched Plant of the Apes, The Swiss Family Robinson and 8 Seconds.
While it snowed on and off.
Fire, movies and snow!
And lots of love.

One day I stitched on all the beaks and eyes.
Another day I sewed them up with my new sewing machine.
I really needed one so it was my birthday present.
I use it alot.

Saturday I stuffed them with fluff and stitched up the bottoms.
Wolfie really wanted to snuggle in the basket with them.
My little sewing buddy.
He should have been in the garage keeping mice out of my boots
but I think he wants to retire.
Hope your weekend was filled with Stitches.
Oh and Cake..Oh the Cake.

May God bless our Marriages and those that are hurting.
(nothing nothing is too difficult for thee)

The song on my player is one Papa John and I really love.
We both cried the first time we heard it.
I remember him walking me home when I was 14.
(30yrs ago..:)

Now go hug the stuffin out of your sweetie and
tell them how much you love them today.
Love love love with all your heart!
Have a wonderful sunday!

Thank You!

Good Morning Friends!
My Bubba brought me home the perfect cake.
For Christmas Fall Snow!
(That's my nickname)
I love Christmas, Fall and Snow.
What a sweet boy to think of that.
The lady said it should be white then..He said no CHOCOLATE.
She hasn't had sugar and loves chocolate.
The cake also said Happy Birthday Mama!
Oh my heart. As you can imagine it was just the sweetest cake ever.
I will have one more piece today and then no more sugar till I lose 10 more pounds.

My other birthday present arrived.
Isn't it just beautiful?
The chickens didn't seem to mind the snow this morning.
My Wolfie follows me all over the field when I feed the chickens and turkeys.
I sometimes think he thinks he is my little farm dog instead of a cat.

Isn't this tree beautiful?
Do you see my Wolfie boy?
Thank you all for the sweet birthday wishes.
It meant so much to me.
It was truly a very good day.
The boys say I can have today as my birthday too.
Papa John is making me breakfast now, the snow is falling and a fire is going.
Now all I need is my sewing basket.
