Good Thursday Morning!
Spring times on the way.
My very first turkey egg.
Meet Mary Bailey.
She is Georgie boy's love.
And she has begun laying eggs.
Thank you Mary Bailey.
Now Georgie has become a little territorial.
He does not want Piper near his flock.
And every time she gets close he chases her off.
So fun to just watch.
Piper loves to play.
What fun!
JOY JOY JOY!
Today on Thankful Thursday I am thankful for my animals.
For all the love, laughter and fresh eggs they give me.
Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things!
Psalm 98:1

I join in with you, I love my dogs. They are a special gift from God to be sure. Have a super day Trace. :)
ReplyDeleteGood morning Trace. Congrats on your first egg. Georgie will be a little testy now. Animals are such a joy to have even if it is alot of work. Our hens should be ready to lay eggs again now that the weather is warmer. I so love to collect all the different colors.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day

Well, that's a big egg! I hope the dogs can run faster than turkeys.

Yep, Georgie looks like he has a bit of a mean streak, LOL.. So fun to watch though, I bet. That turkey egg would be a big "one egg omelet"... Hugs, Traci

Happy Thankful Thursday! Love the pix of Georgie all puffed up going after Piper. I know this is a silly question but I am a city girl....What do you do with the turkey eggs? Will you get baby turkeys? And hey girlfriend!! You are on the verge of 200 followers!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay Sis, Shame on you. Why have you not educated me on these critters. I had no idea turkeys laid eggs. Do you eat them like hen eggs? Now don't hurt my feelings and laugh at me.(giggle). Mr. P had gone turkey hunting before but has never said they laid eggs. Guess I am going to have to come stay on the farm and take classes, huh? Have a wonderful Thursday.

O Trace no wonder Georgie boy is so fond of her ....shes beautiful ! Georgie being territorial reminds me of my childhood ...you see most dont realize turkeys are very good pets and protective of their loved ones human or not ...when I was a li l girl I had a pet turkey named "Tom" imagine that lol ...he used to chase anyone that came near me up the swingset or the nearest tree ..including friends and family lol He was such a good pal! I too am thankful for all the critters that have graced my life ! Enjoy your day ! hugs lil raggedy angie
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post!I am wanting to get some turkeys too.Love their names.Have a great day,Jen
ReplyDeleteGobble gobble.....how fun. I can't beleive the song you have on your playlist "a bushel and a peck". My grandmother used to sing just the "I love you a bushel and a peck" part to me as a child. I had no idea until just now that it was a real song. This brings tears to my eyes. It brings me closer to her to realize she heard this song many times and loved it enough to remember it all those years and sing it to me. She has been gone now for many years. I still love her much.
ReplyDeleteThanks. -Steph-
Wow Trace you have a lot of hens! Mary is a purty Turkey girl - congratulations on the new egg! What a great time of the year! ~*~Lisa

Okay Trace, I will share a little black hen named Henrietta, that I was thankful for. She was a stray and lived here several years before she flew to the big coop in the sky. I have pictures of her eating out of my husbands hand. He always said God sent her because I was afraid of chickens. I fed her when he wasn't home, but I was still afraid. What do you do with turkey eggs? Also Henrietta would crow. My mother would always say this little ditty,"A no good woman and a crowing hen, always came to a no good end!".lol You brought back memories in this post.
