Good Morning Friends!
Tuesday we had blowing snow showers on and off all day.
It was beautiful.
It covered all the dead and winter yuck with sparkling white.
Above is my newest chicken Primmie Rose.
She has something wrong with one of her wings and legs.
Her fellow feathered friends were walking all over her and just plain not being nice.
So I put on my boots, super granny cape and went down and rescued her.
I just love all my feathered kids, but they can sometimes be mean.
They also all like to follow me down our driveway to the mailbox.
I'm sure its quite a scene.
So today on Thankful Thursday I'm
Thankful for Papa John's job.
(and how he always calls me shoogie)
Friends who take the time to make me a new header for my blog
and does a awesome job.
( Big Joe is sitting with Piper. How cool is that?)
Friends who love to crow-hooky and email me everyday with love and sweet stories.
(surprise friend packages)
A sweet Friend who encourages me to keep Growing!
(joy joy joy)
Fires, movies, coffee and mismatched socks.
(wool, buttons, pens and journals)
Chickens that live in my laundry room and likes my butter cookies.
A sweet little Monkey George who claps for me when I sing Oh how I love Jesus. (every time!)
Deep belly laughs when I trace his hand with a black crayon.
Granny Girls who tell you your chicken noodle soup made her all better.
Sugar ears on a Sweet Granny Boys.
A grown son who still calls me mama and texts me a million times a day.
Being able to ask others to join me in prayer.
And Thanking Him for answering our prayers.
For dark mornings.Peeks of orange from the sun rising between the trees.
Driving further and seeing a big bright star all lit up on the top of a old white barn.
Praying, Praising and Goosebumps.
Thankfully Growing in JOY!
Ephesians 5:20
Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ

Good morning Trace. Looks like you got the same skiff of snow that we had. Your hens look like mine, I had a yellow comet hen who also had a leg problem and I had to separate her from the flock to heal. My hens wait at the from door of the coop for me to give them an egg if one is cracked. They can't wait and will sometimes fly up on my shoulder or I will tease them and pretend I have one to throw. Just love watching their heads bob up and down in anticipation. Funny creatures huh? I get up before daylight and love to watch the sun come shining through the big sycamore tree near the chicken coop. Such a joyous sight. Lots to be thankful for.

ReplyDeleteYou and Lea at the shabby ole potting shed have inspired me to do a thankful post. Its so important isn't it to give thanks and there is something about writing it down. Hope that doesn't seem too copycat. I too want to give thanks for all the Lord blesses me with. Hope your staying warm with your woolies! that snow is soo pretty.
Aloha!!! Paula
oh I loved this post..loved all the words spoken..my sister raised pigeons as a kid and one was a baby and the other started pecking its head till he had this huge hole..so my little sister nursed him back to health and put him back in when he was older and could defend himself..not sure if this is how nature works..but I don't like it.;) have a wonderful day today:)
