Monday...

Morning Friends!
The other morning I got to go to the Thrift Store.
I found this adorable vintage rooster.
He was a bit dirty but who cares I just love.
I do love my chickens and roos!

I also found these fabric remnants.
They were screaming Spring.
Turn us into some vintage bunnies please.
I already see these pillow bunnies in my head.
Old vintage buttons, gingham ribbon or jute.
Does your fabric ever talk to you?
Crazy I know but when I see fabric most times it tells me what to make.
But shh I have whole cubby of fabric I didn't listen too.
Has anyone started any Spring stitching?

Woolie Love & Buttons & JOY!

For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be.

  1. Good morning Trace. It is a cold and windy day here with a light skiff of snow. I love your rooster you found. I collect rooster and chicken things too. I love the vintage fabric you found.
I too pick up old fabric that may be an old dress or skirt or other item. Vintage fabric is quite hard to find but when I do find some I pick it up and maybe an idea will hit me to make something with it.
Can't wait to see what you do with yours.
    Happy sewing.

  4. Wonderful finds Trace! Ugh ... I don't even want to think about spring. Spring means hot weather isn't too far behind. Have I mentioned I like it cold? Lol! Blessings, Shirlee

  5. Love the rooster Trace. Got a little funny something to share with you this morning. Yesterday morning in service our pastor was bringing out a point in his sermon and was telling of going outside and hearing a rooster crowing..He continued talking about the rooster and referring to it as a SHE!! I almost laughed out loud. I thought to myself you would enjoy that one. This is an older man in his 70's. I enjoyed teasing him about it after the service. Almost all the congregation caught on as he was speaking. I told him he needed a lesson on farm animals. Luckily he has a good personality and laughed along with all of us.
No, I haven't thought of spring yet. I left my twig tree up in the living room and am decorating it with my snowmen until Feb. So will wait a few weeks for spring. Have a great day. Oh, love the fabric. Can't wait to see what you create.

  16. Love the rooster. You should see the vintage print fabrics my granny had. My aunt called me to come get some. There was one bundle aunt told me was just for me from granny. I have a stack of huge ovals that have been pieced together crazy quilt style. All sewn by hand. It just amazes me everytime I look at them. I could never bring myself to use them for anything. My mom begged one off me and put it in a picture frame, that was really nice. I
must get some pics and post them on my site one day. Y'all take care now, ya hear! T
