Happy Woolie Wednesday

 Happy Woolie Wednesday!
Here is my new winter project.
A prim hand tied lap quilt.

I love beautiful intricate quilts.
But I am not that kind of stitcher.
I am more of a prim girl.
I love mixing fabrics and textures.
Nothing perfect here.
And it doesn't matter if the seams match up perfectly.

Because...
I will tie the corners together with yarn.
And everything will tie together with prim LOVE.
I have used homespun and wool on my squares.
I just love the little tan snowmen on the navy blue fabric.
My winter lap quilt.

I will use this burgundy ticking for the border.
I hope to work more on it this weekend.
But I just wanted to show you another one of my projects I am working on.
I have three going on right now.

******************************

Buttons and patches and the cold wind blowing,
The days pass quickly when I am sewing.

Today My Dear Aunt begins her long road of chemo.
Please join me in praying for her today.

  1. Good morning Trace. I love the colors you used in your lap quilt. Lap quilts are so fun to make and are quite useful. You can display them or fold them or use as a table cover. My first quilt was a knotted one until my friend showed me how to hand quilt. I remember my gramma had lots of hand knotted ones. Those are my favorite.
    Happy quilting.

  2. Good Morning, Friend
Your quilt will be so nice to have on cold days and nights ahead. I made a quilt years ago for
a stepdaughter's hope chest and I tied the corners
of it as the finish instead of quilting. She still has it on the foot of her bead.
    Hugs,
    Susan

  3. Good morning! Love the quilt, the colors, your joy! Hope you have a great day! It has been many moons since I tied a quilt, and I never mastered the art of fine hand quilting. I may try again you never know. I bought a walking foot for my machine last winter, it's still waiting for me (smiling). So there is hope for me yet on the quilting front! ~~I put your Aunt's name into the prayer book, I will remember~~~.

  14. Our church quilt bee makes this style of quilt year-round. In October on "quilt Sunday" they display them on all of the pews and balcony - sooo cool looking! Sorry to learn about your aunt having chemo, Trace, will say a prayer for her! ~*~Lisa
