Good Morning Friends!
I've been bitten by the crochet bug.
Luckily this one does not have me feeling bad, but very happy.
My local craft store had yarn on sale and I filled my basket with lots of colors.
They just screamed Happy.
My favorite color RED. I am loving the turquoise and white with it.
So relaxing too.
Debbie and I call crocheting Crow-Hooky!
This is a blankie I am making for my bed.
My room is summer cottage blue and I have black accents.
And I wanna add some splashes of red for the spring and summer.
My blanket is just a basic straight double crochet stitch.
I am not too good with patterns yet.
But I am learning.
My Pal Debbie mentioned crocheted hearts yesterday and
I just could not stop thinking about them.

So I went to You Tube and found a tutorial and made these.
Yipppeee I did it.
Now I am on the lookout for some kind of heart wreath or idea for my window.
It's so empty.
I took down my tree and working on taking the rest of my Christmas stuff down.
I miss my tree already.
I just loved sitting and looking at it all bright and pretty.
Well I am off to pick up Monkey George (granny boy)
Then back home to play, pack up Christmas things and Crow-Hooky.
Wait till ya see what I am making tomorrow on Woolie Wednesday!
Woolie Love & Ginger JOY!
For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be.

Good morning Trace. I just love all the colors of yarn you found. Your blanket will be so lovely when it is done. Love the color combination. I have been quilting on my quilt to try to get it done and maybe then I will crochet some.

I love the bright colors that you chose. I've been working on a simple afghan too! It's relaxing to grab a hook and thread and find a comfy spot to sit and crocht.
ReplyDeleteLove to crochet, it is still one of my favorite crafts. Your blanket is lovely. You could applique some of those hearts on it on a corner somewhere. I have some wonderful blue yarn from a yard sale waiting for a great winter crochet pattern here also!

I used to crochet afghans then I learned to quilt and knit and didn't crochet anymore, but I still enjoy it (if I can remember how)... Anyway, I have some colorful skeins of yarn I bought two years ago to crochet a granny square afghan that never got started. Perhaps I'll find time in 2012 for that project. Your post has kinda' inspired me :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the colors, I love red! Love to crochet! I think I am gaining a whole new vocabulary with you- crow-hooky!
ReplyDeleteOH Trace great colors together there! I think the red is a good accent color with the blue. I love red too. My kitchen has alot of it and reminds me of my Grandma!! I have reds and yellows. I am working on taking my tree down too. I'm looking forward to cleaning up and changing around our livingroom. Thanks for sharing and I think your Crow-Hooky is a hoot!! I love Crows!! How did you guys come up with that? Keep on Keeping on!! Love, XO Fran.
ReplyDeleteMorning Trace!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love IT!!! I really think it would look awesome with a row (or two) around it of matching granny squares. You could make some up and see. If not you could use them for a fun color matching pillow.
Your stitches are so perfect and even!
