Happy New Year's Eve Friends

Good Morning Friends!
Thank you for all the Get Well Wishes.
I'm a bit achy but so much better.

So I thought I would share a few rooster pictures with you
and just how wonderful our Friendships are.
This week I've had a scripture on my heart.
And wouldn't ya just know it I went to the Shabby Ole Potting Shed
and it was on my sweet Friend Lea's heart too.

1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

How great is our God!
When we are feeling down ,sick, stressed or HAPPY.
He leads, guides and puts others in our paths to help pick us up and put a little more JOY into our day!
I mean right by my overalls ,apron strings and watermelon sneakers.
Thank- you all so very much for your friendship!

when you have forgotten the words.
by : Donna Roberts

What are your plans tonight?
Mine did include a movie, shrimp, root beer floats and a fire!
Oh and I can't forget my snuggle buddy Papa Claus.
I think now it may just be some mashed potatoes, crackers and a little tinie weenie float.

Some Old Christmas Finds

Morning Friends!
Sunday Papa Claus and I went for a ride.
And we drove and drove.
Before long we were about 20 to 25 minutes from
Fayetteville Antique Mall.
Well ya know I just had to go.
I found these adorable vintage mugs, elf and oh be still my heart BUTTONS!
The only thing I love more than buttons is my Gingers.
I scored big.
Papa Claus said wow you found some monies.
That's what I called my dear Gram's buttons.
As I shared before I thought she was rich because she had lots of buttons.

Woolie Wednesday

Happy Woolie Wednesday Friends!
I love wool..
Of course you already know that.
In my head I constantly have wool on the brain.
( and coffee)
Wool just gives me that wonderful JOY feeling.
I have also shared my wool passion with Lapookie.
( Bubba 's love.)
She made me the above woolie stitchery for Christmas.
I just love it. She put so much love in each stitch and it was one of those
from the heart gifts I just love.

This handsome fellow was a gift from Papa Claus.
Him is soo stinkin cute I just can't stand it.
Such a prim perfect cookie jar.
He would also be a great holder for some of my treasured buttons too.
Oh what oh what will I use him for?

I didn't get my scarf finished as I also have Monkey George for a few days,
but I will soon. It is turning out great. I too love the colors.
I have alot of cleaning to do today.
Shhh my house looks like a bomb went off in it..
But then later I am Stitchin.
Hey it is Wednesday after all.
And Wednesday is Stitchin day!

Hope your day is filled with WOOLIE stitches and Ginger JOY!

Merry Merry CHRISTmas!

Many Christmas's ago this Granny girl was given such a gift that I will
treasure deep in my heart forever.
My family was going through a really hard time.
And a dear little Church in the Woods shared more Christmas Love with
my mother, brother and I that I could ever share.
They did not deliver packages with giant red bows.
But a large box with food, cookies and the most beautiful oranges I have ever seen.
So you see Christmas is not found in presents, but in the Love that others show.
More than once God has taken care of this Granny and that is why even on my darkest days
I Thank HIM and I Believe!
And why I have so much JOY to share.

Welcome to my heart Spirit of Christmas
I've been waiting for you all year!
-Kimber Anne Engstrom

So Today's very Last Question is:

Tell me one thing that was shared with you on Christmas that you will always treasure.
And yes it can be one or two words. Or many.

  BEAUTIFUL ORANGES. Treasured Christmas Memories.
(Oh and I cannot forget WOOLIE GINGERS!)

Thank you Dear Friends for sharing all your sweet words over this Christmas Fun.
You will never know how much this sappy Granny Girl has just loved all of your comments and treasured memories..

Christmas is the season of love,
a time for gathering together
and celebrating the greatest gift of all
-the arrival of the Savior.

Christmas Love & JOY to You Dear Friends!

Christmas Fun & Question #23

Christmas.....
is not an external event at all
but a piece of one's home that one carries in one's heart.
- Freya Stark

Heap on more wood!
the wind is chill;
But let it whistle
as it will,
We'll keep our Christmas
merry still.
-Sir Walter Scott

Let Christmas shine in your heart!
Sing a few Christmas tunes..
Sip hot cocoa with candy canes and marshmallows.
Take a ride with your sweetie and look at Christmas lights.
Share a simple smile or  a homemade baked good tied with a bow.
Pull on your Woolies and GROW!
Joy, Joy simply JOY!

Today's Question #23 is?
 Do you celebrate Christmas
 on Christmas Eve or Day?

Our family gathers at my Ne and Uncle Bean's on Christmas Eve every year.
And I will be having Christmas dinner at my house for our family on Christmas Day!

This little Woolie Bluebird Treasure arrived just in time to hang on my tree.
He was made and created out of a beautiful ole woolie coat.
What a real treasure!
Thank you Sweet Lea Friend for the sweet Christmas surprise.

Oh Friends what fun all this sharing has been.
I am sorry if I missed a comment or two the past few days, but I have read and enjoyed everyone.
You are each a blessing to me.

Wishing you all Christmas Love & JOY!

He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth!

melted white chocolate chips to drizzle on top.

Pour pretzels in microwave safe bowl. Mix oil, sugar and cin. in small bowl and pour over pretzels.
Mix and make sure it coats all pretzels. Put in microwave for 2 to 3 minutes. Check after 2 minutes
and stir.

Christmas Love & Question #21

 Good Wednesday Morning Friends!
Its a Woolie Wednesday after all.

She sent me a box of Christmas Ginger Love.
With a beautiful Ginger Scarf and two Woolie Gingers.
Doesn't it look like she made this scarf for that exact spot.
And those dear little Gingers tucked in my sewing drawer with my jars are just so stinkin cute.
I just love them all.

She also sent me some of yummy potpourri and cream n sugar room spray.
Oh and I just can't forget some OH MY STARS TOFFEE!! Sadly that is gone..
And I do mean sadly. It was so yummo good.
Thank you again sweet talented Friend!
I am so blessed with so many Friends who have such BIG CHRISTMAS HEARTS!

So Today's Question #21
is:
Do you find it more joyful to give or receive?

I love to give, but it has been so wonderful receiving so much unexpected love in the mail
this year. I have felt like a young girl again with that excited CHRISTMAS JOY!
I said to my daughter why are these friends sending me these blessings and she said because I have always been so giving to others.
God is sooo Good!

Thank you all for blessing me with this giant gift of  your FRIENDSHIP!
I have the JOY JOY down in my heart to Stay!
And the all the credit goes to Him and each of you..

More Christmas Fun & Question #20

 Good Morning Friends!
Yes it was another baking day here at Turtle Tree Farms.
Cookies and more cookies everywhere.

The girls and I baked and baked.
Talked and laughed.

My beautiful niece Pooh and my daughter Cole.
Yes they wore APRONS too.

Don'tcha just love Cole's socks and boots.
She has Rudolph socks on.

We made chocolate chip walnut, peanut butter, butter crunch and spritz cookies.
The first tray or two of spritz were so good, but then they went runny.
Anyone have a good tried and true spritz recipe they would like to share with me please?

Pooh and Granny adding three bags of chips and walnut to our cookies.
Boy are they good.

Spritz Cole Spritz!

 Work that mixer Pooh!

" Piper JOY "the reindeer vacuum cleaned up every dropped cookie and crumb.
Super Dog to the clean up!

THE BAKERS!
We had a wonderful day baking, making Shirlee's potato soup and new treasured memories.

I will be baking more cookies today.
So I can begin making some pies and bars at the end of the week .
The good part of making so many cookies is I am already cookied out.

So Today's Question Is?

Pretend you are Santa what food would you want the children to leave out for you on
Christmas night?

It's morning and I have not eaten yet...So...
I would love a large DD coffee and pumpkin muffin right now.
But on Christmas night when I am delivering all the girls and boys presents I am thinking a jumbo CRAB CAKE from Pappas's in Maryland would be just wonderful.
Coleslaw and Iced tea too.
And some bones for Piper Joy.

Christmas Silly Fun & Question #19

Morning Friends!
Yesterday morning I woke up to a light snow.
I was a happy girl.
I just love seeing those flakes fall.
And the beauty in the light dusting.
It didn't last long, but was just beautiful.

********************************
Saturday Lapookie and I baked some cookies.

Lapookie has been itching to make some cookies.
And what a great baker she is.
The chocolate chips turned out wonderful.

Uh oh I think she may be contemplating flinging dough at me.
Or Princess Snowphia.

We also made these wreaths.

 We did something wrong though.
They never got hard nor came off the wax paper.

Also only five became wreaths..The other were kinda blobs.
They also turned Cole's tongue bright green for her Christmas Party. :)
That was a very good thing.

We had fun so that's all that really matters and hey the chocolate chip cookies were great!

Today I will be baking with my niece Pooh and Cole.
HI HO a baking I will go..

**************************************
Today Question #19 is:

If you could somehow jump into any Christmas carol or song and actually experience
what the lyrics say which song would you choose?

All the meaning for ones about the Holy Night would be wonderful, but friends I have been a Rudolph fan forever and I so would want to jump right into that one...
And the first song that came to my mind..
You know Dasher,Dancer, Donner and Blitzen
But do you recall Granny Trace the least famous reindeer of all....
Remember I LOVE to sing..

Welcome new followers. We just love new friends here!
You have 5 more days to join in the Christmas fun and giveaway.

Wishing you Christmas Love & JOY!!

My Christmas Baby & Question #18

 Good Sunday Morning Friends!
Today is my youngest baby's Birthday.
He is 20. Where oh where do the years go?

 My two favorite guys.
Cock-a-doodle-doooooo

John David Stavros Jr.
So very handsome even in the kindergarten.

 Happy 20th Birthday Precious Boy!

You are a joy to our Family.
And we love you so very much.

My brother and I.
Another one of my very favorite guys. How proud I am to be his sister.

***************************************************************
Matthew 2:9-11
The star appeared to them, guiding them to Bethlehem, It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the Star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house where the child and his mother Mary were and they fell down before him and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

So Today's
Question #18 is:

What gift would you have given? And it could be anything..Small or large..
Something that holds a special place in your heart.

I would give him a Woobie..
A marshmallow blankie that gives warmth and comfort on good days and sad ones too..
